Urge the Senate to Reauthorize SCHIP Today!
Dear Senator:
Please make sure that our neediest children have health insurance coverage during this current economic crisis by voting to reauthorize SCHIP. As families try to cope with the recent downturn in the economy, it is critical that those children and families who are eligible to do so receive access to health care.
Reauthorization of SCHIP is long overdue. The House has already passed a bill to reauthorize the program, and President Obama has promised to sign it into law. Please join them in investing new funding for SCHIP and improving access to health care for our neediest children. We fully support the action of the House in eliminating the five-year waiting period for legal immigrant children to enroll in SCHIP and urge the Senate to keep that important provision.
I ask for your support of the SCHIP reauthorization during Senate consideration.
